Great location just a few quiet yards from the tourist bars. Stergos was very helpful with collecting us from the Gate D'Amboise on his golf cart.
Located right within the castle wall, the modern updates have still retained some of the original details. There is a bricked in stone fireplace, and exposed wooden beams of the ceiling- but a modern shower (not always easy to find in Greece!!!) and the most comfortable bed I stayed in my entire trip. Music from the restaurants nearby can be heard late, so if you are traveling with kids or are a light sleeper, this may not be the spot for you. This location cannot be beat, however, if you are going there to soak in the history. Being within the castle walls, it is so easy to explore everything on foot.
I stayed at the hotel with friends. We had COCKROACHES (!) and other insects in the shower. The bathroom is dark and disgusting. Be careful! UPDATE: As you can see in the answer below, the owner refuses to take responsibility and chooses to lie. Even a photo of a cockroach in HIS hotel doesn't seem to matter to him.
