Dongyang Narada Grand Hotel

Hotel is 5 star quality would get full marks except very few staff members can speak english. Rooftop seating area on 17th floor, 3 restaurants, starbucks, gym, spa, sauna, jaccussis for men only.

This hotel is located at the rear of the famous Xi Hu scenic precinct & can take a stroll over the hill to get there in 20min. It went through an upgrade recently & was well done to uplift the overall quality of the. It has both subway & buses in front of the hotel. However, it’s let down by not having its 2nd floor redone to align its quality with the rest. The greatest disappointment is it shares with an aging recreational club for the gym, pool, spa on the other building that would take an unpleasant long walk to get there. There are also some drawbacks on the built quality in the room. The AC kept making a dripping noise loud enough to unsettle one’s sleep at night. The shower drain was defective, so the shower water overflowed to the outside. The in-house wi-fi was difficult to connect & seemed to block Google & some overseas websites. The wardrobe doors were not operable. It would have been a great hotel, had the nice upgrade was done thoroughly.

Being first time in Hangzhou, my colleague told me that this is one of better hotel they've ever stayed. WOW!! Been to bigger city compare to Hangzhou...still lot more development to go. Some area has new buildings but still very old buildings are most. Hotel has workout gym and has sauna and swimming pool as well. Note: TO swim you need Swimming CAP. (Either you buy or NO swim) Hotel was located near Stadium and bus terminal that very convenient and has Walmart. Also it is near famous West Lake...I haven't been there yet but next time I will check it out. Staff's speak little English and has Dutch Hotel Manager who could assist you many ways. Buffet breakfast was great but Japanese restaurant is bit expensive.
