Very lovely first time experience at a Dorint hotel. From the check in, with complementary sparkling wine, to the top floor room (single bed, standard rate), to the dog bowl and treats provided for my small dog the entire experience was great. Friendly staff, despite being in Eastern Germany and a foreigner. Central location. Underground parking. Very comfortable room. Highly recommend.
Amazing hotel in a great location in downtown Jena. I travel a lot and had some of the best sleep ever in this hotel. The breakfast is awesome and at a terrific price. I was pleasantly surprised to find three kinds of gluten free bread here, something unprecedented anywhere. They also have a decent restaurant that serves dinner. Their steaks are grilled to perfection and are certainly among the best anywhere. I hate those two nights in a row. Overall, one of the finest hotels I’ve stayed at in Germany.
The hotel is in a perfect location. I liked how it was built around the factory of Zeiss and honored the history. We had a great view over the factory to the Jentower. The room was comfortable. The TV had mirror capability so could use Netflix from our laptops. The shower water pressure was impressive. Also the water was immediately warm. This was lovely. It was one of the quietest places I’ve ever stayed. I don’t know how they did it but I wish others could copy The breakfast buffet!!! 😍😍😍. It was shocking how much variety could be fit in that area. All of it good. The one thing that was frustrating and the reason for 4 stars is the Air conditioning is turned off at night. We booked this hotel for location and AC. Thankfully it wasn’t hot the week we were here and thankfully they had a fan. The first night was so hot and still air. They have locks on the windows so they can’t be opened fully which would have helped with the temps. And then in traditional German fashion you are given a big fluffy duvet that is very warm and no top sheet option. 🥵 They did have walking sticks and umbrellas at the front desk which was a nice courtesy. The workout room was functional and there was a sauna available after 5
