Dormero Hotel Bonn Windhagen

Heard some bad stuff about this place prior to my visit. My experience was perfect. Room, great, spacious, the bed was big, the view from the balcony was perfect, free movies (recent) to watch, spacious bath tube. Breakfast buffet was one of the best I had ever had in any hotel. The selections from three different kind of eggs, to big express machine, orange/apple juice, waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage, salmon, cereal, yogurts, fruit and the most amazing selection of bread ever. I ordered the steak one night for dinner and it was just okay, by the potatoes were amazing. The customer service was A+++++, courteous, kind and helpful especially for a bunch of Americans who couldn’t speak any German. Pool table, exercise room, soccer field, basketball hoop, foosball table and much more. Great place and will stay again.

Kind service, great food and wonderful location. Also great if you love sports. There are many different options, such as indoor-soccer/-basketball/-badminton/..., "Kegelbahnen", Indoor and Outdoor pool, you can play golf nearby and so on. Why i don't rate five stars is, that my room was a little bit disgusting. Also the room does not look professionally renovated. Overall i had a good time because i was not in my room most of the time. ;-)

Stayed with a group of 32 people at this hotel. Before getting there, we had some phone calls and e-mails about dinner options. "No problem at all" was the answer, though it might be crowded. Arriving at the dinner room, we had to wait for over an hour for drinks. Not one single waiter came for the order, so we took the order ourselves. After another hour, not even our food-order had been taken, so again, we did it ourselves. So after two hours of waiting, we finally got some food, which was not bad at all. We had to pay all of it, except for the water. The manager, not present at all, but asked by phone, said we had to pay for all and if we didn't, he would lower all waiters wages according to. Not a nice experience at all - I really do not recommend the restaurant of Dormero at all. It would be better to contact the really nearby Italian restaurant for good food. Mismanagement at Dormero all over. Although the breakfast really was great, please look for another place to stay.
