The price - quality ratio is off the charts. I didn't have high expectations for the (cheap) price that i paid. But let me tell you. The room where we stayed (37) was clean, tidy and maintained well. For a hotel being right across the train station, it wasn't that loud/noisy as i thought. (It was also during the summer break on a monday night) so don't let the location scare you. Beds were comfortable (finally a full size mattress instead of 2x90cm so my arm didn't fall between two beds). Shower is really amazing, toilets are clean and the whole room just looks...like a home. (Weirdly enough) Airconditioning was so good i had to turn it off after a while. Haha Tv's have a built in chromecast so you can stream whatever you want from your phone to the tv. (I don't think I've ever seen that before in a hotel)
Absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Dormio Wijnhotel Valkenburg! The ambiance was relaxing, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was small, but cozy and comfortable. The wine-themed decor added a special touch to the experience.
The hotel is located right in front of Valkenburg train station and about a 10 min walk from the city center, which is very practical. The rooms are quite spacious, but I personally don’t like the recent trend of having the sink in the room, which I’ve noticed in many 3–4 star hotels. The interior is dedicated to a wine theme. The furniture is of simple quality. The balcony door lock was broken. The staff is friendly, but during check-in it can get crowded since the reception area is small and only one person was there. We were told there is no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage upstairs, a big drawback in my opinion. For these 2 reasons I give 3 stars for the service The breakfast is good, with a nice selection of fresh food from local area. Overall, I would rate the hotel closer to 3 stars. Still, it’s quite a good option for a 1–2 night stay in Valkenburg.
