Doubletree by Hilton Bloomington Minneapolis South

The room I was given was extremely dated. There was something behind the door that was missed during cleaning. The bathroom ceiling is peeling and the tub plug was rusted. The outlet in the our bathroom area did not work. I would have told the front desk person but was cut off as she walked away from me during check out. In fact I have been here several times and the front desk personnel have been hot or cold. It takes just a small gesture to pretend you like your customers and your job. If not quit I was here for a conference and the conference staff and catering staff bent over backwards to please us. It was very pleasant. The catering individual found food for grandson that was dairy and gluten free . The front desk people could take lessons from catering staff. I have used the park and fly service many times and have had no issues. I would like to see it become a 24 hour service so I can just come in and hitch a ride. I live to close to stay yet can't get service to airport prior to 4 am which I need with a 530 flight

I recently stayed here for a few nights during a business trip. Upon check in, I was not asked whether I was a Hilton Honors member. After realizing the front desk neglected to ask I returned to ensure it was added to my account. The cleanliness of the room was disgusting. There was what looked like boogers on the wall. The shower head had built up soap scum all over it. Good thing I travel with Clorox wipes, however I shouldn’t have to have cleaned up after someone else when the hotel has appropriate staff. Lastly, the ironing board had dust build up all underneath (photos included). What prompted me leaving a review however was me noticing the smoke/fire detector was missing from the wall. I am appalled by the negligence and I am pretty sure that this is a safety hazard. (Photos included). I tried to reach out to staff, however I was left on hold for 15 minutes and so I hung up.

I don’t even know where to start with how awful our stay was at this DoubleTree by Hilton. From the second we arrived, it was a disaster. The check-in process took forever, with staff that seemed more confused than helpful. After finally getting to our room, we realized we’d have to switch—not once, but multiple times—due to various issues. The air conditioner in the first room sounded like a freight train. Sleep was impossible. In another room, they left a dirty washcloth hanging in the shower. Completely unacceptable. To top it off, the pillows had suspicious stains and there wasn’t even soap in the bathroom. And don’t even get me started on the pool. It was filthy. There was actual grime floating on the surface and garbage around the deck. Disgusting. We also never received the famous DoubleTree cookies—probably the one decent thing they’re known for. When we asked, the front desk acted like it was a weird request. Isn’t that part of the experience? The entire hotel felt unorganized and chaotic. Cops were constantly around the property, which made us feel unsafe, and the area in general gave off a sketchy, ghetto vibe—not what you expect from a Hilton brand hotel. Save yourself the money, sleep, and frustration. I wouldn’t stay here again if it were free.
