I stayed here for almost a week with my kids and the manager Erika was the sweetest, kindest person I’ve ever encountered in a hotel. She was so personable and so kind. On top of that, the hotel is 10 minutes from two different beaches, 1 less private than the other, but still great. This is a great place to stay, close to all the shops, and quaint and cozy.
I absolutely LOVE how they do the towels, and the toilet paper into bows. It's the little things that I notice. The room had great A/C on a 100° day. The shower gets very hot and never runs out. 4 of us took a shower, and still had hot water. The lobby smells great, the elevators are very modern. Front desk offered a cookie at check-in. All workers were great. Location was GREAT! It's down the street from a Walmart, and restaurants. Close to the Isle of Palms Beach (12 min) and all easy back roads. I recommend this location. The pool is small, but you have a beach. The room is kinda on the smaller side, but cozy.
Room was small. Got a king size bed. Did not provide a sign to hang on the door to “disturb” or not. Only saw one actual sign hanging on the doors so I wonder if they even provide them unless you actually ask for it. They come in your room when you’re not there. Found that they had thrown personal pillows on the floor and left it on the ground when they made the bed. Did not expect them to come in and do anything in the first place. Felt violated. They do not provide coffee after breakfast. Waffles taste like pancakes. Stingy on how they run things. Not sure if other DoubleTrees are run like this but if so, do not like the service protocols.
