Amazing experience!! Front desk staff were so nice. The warm cookies & water bottles were a great added bonus. Nice and clean rooms. Happy they had close parking. No weird hotel smells. Super cool pool and outdoor hangout area, even towel service. Appreciated the later pool hours as well.
Perfect spot for a weekend getaway, you are close to so many cafes and restaurants and more. I loved the service, the ability to text any questions about the room was helpful when we were out and wondered things like if we had a microwave to reheat our leftovers, or needed a refill of body wash. There is also a Starbucks and restaurant inside. FYI, there was stains on the bedsheets which makes the room 3 stars. Also we were on one of the first couple floors so the view was actually just a random machine structure outside, not amazing view.
We recently stayed here, a group of four siblings, for 4 days and 3nights. To start off, the location of this hotel is easily its strongest feature. It is right in the heart of downtown Chicago, within walking distance of Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park, and hundreds of food spots. The rooftop pool was a cool addition. Although it was always very busy, it was still a nice and fun experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made check-in a much better experience. However, the rooms left a lot to be desired. They felt outdated and were not very clean. The carpets need a deep clean, and the furniture was worn. The TV only had live channels, which was surprising considering how common streaming is. The bathrooms were okay, but not the cleanest and definitely not spotless.Overall, I would recommend this hotel for short stays (1 to 2 nights max), especially if you are someone who does not plan to spend much time in the hotel room and mainly needs a central place to sleep. If cleanliness and a more modern hotel are important to you, or if you plan on spending a lot of time in your room (which, honestly, who does when visiting the Windy City?), then this hotel might not be the best fit for you. Thank you, DoubleTree Mag Mile, for hosting us!
