DoubleTree by Hilton Detroit Novi

There was visible construction going on while we were there, all weekend, not good at all. One day our room did not get cleaned. There was not any in person management. The exterior of this hotel was beautiful. There was no security. There were two employees period doing double jobs. I commend them because they tried to assist everybody needs. They were over worked. Terrible, I have lived in many many Hilton hotels. I am a Hilton Honors member. This was the worst. Thank you.

This was the worst experience I’ve had during any of my hotel stays. Management had an opportunity to make it right but rolled their eyes at us and downplayed the issue instead. Plenty of reasonings beyond that caused this to be an experience I will always regret. Firstly, when we arrived to our room, there was a huge yellow stain in plain sight on one of our pillow cases. It was gross, and made us question the sanitary of the rest of our room. When we brought the pillow to the front desk, there wasn’t even an “I’m sorry” or a “let us make this right for you”. Not even so much as complementary breakfast. They just gave a response I’m still in shock of. They said “well, that’s not ours” (much like we see high school kids do in movies when caught with drugs). They quite literally told us “somebody else might have put that there because we wouldn’t do that”. Zero accountability, zero apology. They gave us a pillow to replace the one we had, and denied a request for additional pillows (we wanted at least one extra to be sure we both have at least a clean pillow to use and not use the ones in our room, as they were clearly not properly cleaned.) In addition to this, the entire first floor seems to be under construction. It felt like we were in a construction zone. It smelled terrible. There was also a huge red stain on our carpet by the pullout couch (room 210). I am extremely disappointed by the lack of cleanliness, lack of accountability from management, and the overall service we were given. My mother is too sweet to make a big deal about this and I didn’t want to ruin our trip to have management make it right. I feel she was taken advantage of because she was kind and polite. There is no reason that nothing was done about this, and that we were made to feel stupid for returned a urine stained pillow.

Make us purchase another room. Lie about being sold out on double bed queen. Our reservation states that we can chose upon arrival. We had to purchase another room and found out they are not sold out. Rude and unprofessional! Won’t use this hotel again! . Parking was empty indicate that hotel was not full. Front desk insist that hotel is full and allqueens rooms are sold out. We made another reservation on the spot proofed to her that Double queen bedrooms was available! Don’t come to this hotel so you won’t be wasting your time writing a long review the way I am doing now when I am suppose to be resting and relaxing after long trip. BAD!
