DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown Wilmington Legal District

It's... fine? The bed was clean and comfortable and the location was easy to get to and near where I needed to be. The hotel is very dated and shows plenty of signs of wear and tear. So don't expect luxury. Parking was cheap and easy. The hotel bar looks like something someone built in their basement in the 80s. But the bartender was nice and made a good drink. If you're staying multiple nights? Might want to look elsewhere. If you're only there for a quick trip and need a place to crash, it gets the job done

Stayed at this property for five days in early July for the purpose of doing genealogy work at the Delaware Historical Society. Check in went relatively smooth on the late night when I first arrived & then when I extended after two nights of stay. My assigned room was in fairly good condition and only had a few minor things wrong with it, nothing too crazy. Also, the gym on the first floor was well equipped with good exercise equipment/machines, towels & bottles of water & was really clean. What I didn't like about this property is the fact that the indoor pool is not open & probably never will be again. Also, I didn't like the fact that when I went down to the hotel restaurant & bar & asked for a drink menu, the bar tender/waitress told me that there is no menu, which I found to be unacceptable for a Hilton Property. Lastly, I didn't like the fact that for the duration of my stay, they were testing the fire alarm in the hotel & during those tests, they had the nerve to to have what they thought was a real fire alarm situation. Unbelievable! Just in the way! Other than these few things, I would definitely recommend the Double Tree by Hilton Downtown Wilmington Legal District. Definitely not one of the worst hotels that I have stayed at.

Parking was convenient for being in a down town area. Room was clean but no trash can, barely has hot water to my room and half the TV channels didn’t work. Paid extra when selecting a room to stay on the top (and executive floor that said had a privet bar/lounge to find it’s been permanently closed after I arrived. Ok hotel if you’re staying one night and need to be in this area. Staying more than a day id look for something else.
