This hotel is conveniently located in downtown Hartford, about a block from Dunkin' Park (home of the Hartford Yard Goats!) and near many nice restaurants. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The gym is small but reasonably well-equipped (two treadmills, for my fellow runners). My only complaint was the included breakfast: a narrow range of choices, clearly constrained by what can be microwaved and no more. A little grim, honestly. It's not difficult to do a more enticing breakfast and this showed a disturbing lack of effort.

As of August 2025, the pool (and hot tub, if there was one) is still closed and drained. Can't even get into the pool space, though you can see it from the fitness room. Small fitness room has a few treadmills and a lack of airflow. I didn't try the restaurant or breakfast, can only report that it looks new and closes at noon for a few hours before reopening for dinner. It is also a little strange that the hotel shares the building with an apartment brand, maybe because they were having a hard time maintaining the Hilton/Doubletree standard for the whole building. Still an old hotel underneath the fresh renovations, so walls are thin and AC not very strong or efficient. On the 8th floor my shower heated quite well and had good pressure. Beyond that, my Doubletree cookie was warm, the bed and pillows were fine, the room was clean and new, and I enjoyed walking around town in the daylight. Close to a number of event centers and a few decent food options.

Never made it to room. The staff at front desk was really rude. My work booked this hotel for me. First of all you need key to get in the hotel lobby and I did not check in yet so there was no way for me to get in. When asked they replied the area is very unsafe, which I understand but how are now guest trying to check is suppose to enter the hotel. They do not know how to process digital cards created by companies. In addition the operational manager told me he is doing me a favor by getting me check in, no one is doing any favors because the room was already paid for. The manager said he will cancel my stay unless I provide him the actual card or I can find another hotel. So I did exactly the same found another hotel. I refuse to stay at place where staff is so rude! Maybe coach the team to be more customer friendly and think about people who had a long day at work and trying to get some sleep at your hotel. Be a little more mindful of how they talk to people. The whole experience just sucked. Go to another hotel don’t waste your time and money at this hotel while there are tons of hotels in the area.
