Doubletree by Hilton Hattiesburg MS

Really surprised at how nice the hotel was. Everything felt clean, updated and well maintained. The front desk was very helpful, free coffee and snacks were nice as someone who travels a lot. The restaurant on the first floor called The Local had decent kitchen options that tasted just fine if you don’t want to eat out or have food delivered, it was very convenient.

Very bad hotel. Terrible. Smoke detectors hanging by cables, mildew smell throughout the hallways, terrible food from the kitchen. What happened to hospitality? Isn't that a big part of the hotel business? I wonder how Hilton could let this location remain in such a poor state. Sure, it looks nice on first glance, but trust me all they've done is put lipstick on a pig. Too many costs have been cut and the guest experience suffers as a result. This hotel is on par with motel brands like Motel 6 and Super 8.

This place is not cleaned well. The first night there were BED BUGS! Sheets had stains all over them. Clearly no one cleaned the sheets prior to our stay. Only two towels in our room when we had two beds. When we asked for more towels the hotel said they ran out and some guests wouldn’t have any towels at all. We had to use the little pool towels. For the 4 nights we stayed here we never had anyone clean our rooms. You have to go to the front desk if you run out of anything. They don’t bring it up to the room. Coffee downstairs was cold. The place looked nice and has potential, but after the bed bugs I could not enjoy my stay.
