DoubleTree by Hilton Holland

Currently going through renovations, but not in a way that interfered with my stay at all. I had a room on the third floor that had been renovated and it was pretty nice! Looked like new furniture, new carpet, new bathroom sink and mirror, fresh coat of paint on the door. Not perfect but far better than reviews led me to expect, I think they addressed some of the big points from past reviewers. Hadn't tried the public bathroom or pool. I only tried one meal from the bar while there and it was decent, the bar's chairs were a little wobbly so hopefully in this renovation those can be replaced. Front desk employees and bartender were friendly. In summary, room was renovated, clean, bathroom a little bit small but usable, not great noise insulation from the adjoining room but good enough and I think relative to the amount I paid, I had a very nice stay. Would stay again.

The good - the rooms have recently been renovated, were very comfortable and clean. Cost of the rooms when I stayed were almost half the cost of other Hilton properties. Great daily room service. Beds were comfortable. AC worked great. The not as good - the halls, common areas, and parking lot are in need of a refresh. The location and surrounding businesses don't inspire feelings of safety and comfort and you will definitely want to drive to get anywhere else. Bathroom vanity counter space was limited.

I liked the way the hotel set back off the major road, making it a little more secluded. When we went they were in the middle of remodeling so there was construction materials laying around and at least one hallway was blocked off. The pool area was nice and overall the hotel was a good stay. Once updated this place should be great.
