DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Alana Waikiki Beach

We booked a stay here with Hilton Grand Vacations and we were more than satisfied. This hotel isn't the lap of luxury but it's still very nice. Service at the hotel was great and they never made you feel like your questions or requests were an inconvenience. Our room was more than adequate. There was a balcony with a nice city/mountain view. Only negative was the bathroom was pretty small. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

I travel every few months to Hawai’i which is my home to take care of my folks. I stay here frequently and they service is great. You cannot beat the location at the beginning of Waikiki and not in the midst of the crowds. The Island Country Market is one block away for all your takeaway needs and they sell awesome fresh fruit in addition to tourist items. The beach is one block away through the Hilton Hawaiian Village which also has great shopping and restaurants. You can walk to Ala Moana or catch the trolley or bus anywhere from the street in front of the hotel. This hotel is also smaller with a friendly, intimate atmosphere. The pool is also nice if you just want to relax with a wonderful patio area.

Fresh cookies at check-in are always nice. We stayed here for a week. It is an older hotel, so the elevators are slow, so give yourself a few extra minutes to get up or down. The hotel store is really small but there is a convenient store down the street if you need anything. They use down blankets and pillows in the rooms, so if you are allergic, just let them know, and they will change the bedding out. The housekeeping staff were really amazing at this hotel. They constantly checked to see if we needed anything, and they always greeted us with an aloha every morning.
