This has always been my go-to place for any Basque event in Bakersfield. On the latest occasion, I brought a large group as part of a tour of the Far West. Rooms were well-appointed and clean. As part of our package they set up a breakfast room for us and provided a great breakfast. Definitely worth a return visit. Insider tip: the layout of this hotel is a little different, be sure to look for the little shortcuts through the center patio and check the floor numbers before heading up or down the stairs.

Here for a week-long convention. Staff has been very friendly and helpful. On-site restaurant/banquet food has been 'ok'. Parked in front area, no security problems with my car. The property has very visible security presence however some other Convention attendees have had room security issues. Always use the extra door lock when you are in your room. Room has a lounge and desk chair. Comfortable bed. Ambiance with artwork is reflected in the oil drilling in the area. If you want to enjoy the balcony bring your own folding chairs-- balconies ARE generously sized! Again-- staff, from front desk to housekeeping has top notch all week.

Understand what you're paying for first, it will not be fully explained. Choose this place for the better reviews in recent weeks. Start to finish the experience was mid. Starting with reservations the automated system got me to a person which was nice. She offered to sign me up to the rewards program for a discounted price, which was a double edge sword that comes in later. Got done with that and had a decent price for a 1 night stay. 100$ deposit is a bit much for a single night to add to it but we'll see if it comes back. Check in was smooth, explained the layout because it was multiple building complex. It was not explained that breakfast was not included in the reservation. Get into the room not super dirty, carpets do need to be cleaned more thoroughly. Mold setting in the ceiling of the bathroom as there is no ventilation in the shower area which is not a wise choice. Evidence of mold being "cleaned" and repainted over multiple times. Patio frame sealing was frayed from being in direct sun and the patio hasn't been touched in a hot minute, the rust on the frame was evidence of that. Check out went fine, and the double edge sword came back around. Because of the rewards discount breakfast was not included in my price which is an interesting choice for any hotel. Breakfast prices came out to around $60 on top of the $130 one night stay. Overall I wouldn't recommend it but I also don't discourage this hotel. Understand the full breakdown of the reservation when you book in this area, if this hotel is doing it the rest of them are too.
