DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bristol Connecticut

All in all a decent hotel. Clean room, well appointed and with a decent bed We received a lovely, warm welcome from the front desk who were helpful at all times. We needed to use the guest computers in the lobby but three out of four computers aren’t working and this seems to of been an ongoing issue for some time which was inconvenient. We have been staying in hotels on a huge trip since the beginning of March and I have to say that Hilton are pretty much the only hotel chain who do not provide complimentary tea/coffee in the lobby, or breakfast. Yes, there’s a coffee machine in the room but no tea, no milk and one sugar. Also to charge $4 for a tiny bottle of water in the room feels a bit mean especially because there are no water machines on the floor.

Solid hospitality experience. Excellent fitness room. I'm a Hilton Honors member, and this is a good Hilton experience. Room was in good order, and comfortable. This may sound odd, but I valued the abundance of elevators distributed throughout the floor. Easy access to the parking in 'back'. Catering team did a nice job with a unique dining experience that my host sought to provide us.

I wish I could give this a higher rating. Unfortunately I cannot. Sadly the pictures on the website can not be trusted when booking a room as although the hotel appears to be newly renovated on the main level the actual rooms are not. Our room was dirty, had a destroyed toilet seat, and a few gnats flying around. The staff was very friendly but unfortunately had no ability to switch our room. I have a feeling even with this happening we may have had a similar issue. The staff was amazing but the rooms are deceiving based on the one we received and for the price you would expect at least clean, updated rooms. There is a very nice Marriott right down the road that we will stay at next time we are in this area
