DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cleveland Downtown Lakeside

We stayed here for a cheer competition. Before booking a reservation we made sure it had an indoor pool and accepted cash. Upon arrival we were told they no longer have a pool since COVID, so we were upgraded to a bigger room. At check in we were told that you have to have the amount on a card to check in, but could pay cash when checking out. ( They already pulled the full amount off of our card before checking out.) When we entered our room, we ran over a piece of paper stating that our water will be shut off from 8 am until 2 pm. We had to be at competition at 2 pm. So in order to use the water to get ready for competition we had to be up by 6 am so everyone could get their shower in. We were upgraded to a king bed with a pull out sofa. Sofa had a dirty comb and other things in it. They definitely don't clean out the sofa's. Went to the closet for the bedding for the pull out sofa and there was none. Asked for bedding at 10 pm, and had to re ask at midnight. Breakfast is not included. Parking is $30 a day and the elevator to parking garage is broken. We searched high and low for the workout room and never found it. Shuttle bus is complimentary within a mile. When we asked how to use it, we were told to just come down. When we came down we were asked did you call him? No, we didn't even know there was a number.

Started with the room my family and I were given, we arrived to the front door. It was not even pulled to shut all the way. Then upon entering, the room was unkept, beds not made, room a mess and there was garbage all over the place. When we let the front desk know, they moved us to a different room on a higher floor and told us they would comp us another room so my two sons could have their own room. We were in town for a family wedding. They told us to check back in with them for the additional room when we got back to the hotel. Upon returning to the hotel now they said they did not have an additional room for my 2 sons and were going to move us to a suite on the top floor to accommodate us. So once again, we had to switch rooms. Upon entering the suite, it only had one bedroom a pull out couch and they wheeled up a portable mattress. Room had cobwebs in the windows and furniture, a layer of dust and not even clean. We had no choice at this point to stay in this suite because the hotel was sold out. On waking the next morning, my son had left a white shirt on the floor and it was polluted with ants crawling all over it. Needless to say our two day stay at this hotel was atrocious. The hotel did comp one night and comped our parking which I feel we should have been given BOTH nights free for the inconvenience and the filthy of the room. However at that check out point, we were not going to argue. We just will never ever stay at that hotel again if we ever return to Cleveland.

I really wish I looked at the reviews before booking here four months ago. This place is absolutely filthy. Moving forward, I will be booking directly with the company instead of third party. I am currently on the phone with Hilton, but I don't think there's anything I can do. All the comments that have been mentioned are absolutely correct. The windows are filthy, on the inside and outside. Caked with dust. The ceiling is peeling, I really hope I don't take anything home with me. I really want to move to another hotel so bad.
