DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Houston Greenway Plaza

My stay at the Doubletree Hotel by Hilton was an overall success. I love the updated renovations that the hotel has completed. Check-in was very smooth. Everyone at the front desk was very much available and eager to help each. Customer also enjoy the free fresh cookies and treats that we received upon arrival. I booked the double queen suite with the kitchen for a overnight sleepover. It was perfect size and the kitchen was a great advantage. Checkout was also smooth. I really enjoyed the service I received from everyone in the hotel from the Valet to the front desk to the cleaning ladies and housekeeping thank you Doubletree Hilton!

Pros: The hotel room was very nice and large as well as handicap accessible if that is a priority. There was a mini fridge that froze everything, but better frozen than not cold enough. Also, there was a large TV, coffee maker and good a/c. Cons: The parking garage is a nightmare. I stayed 5 nights and still can't tell you where and what entrance to get into the garage. I had to get many people to guide me as I was terminally lost in the maze of garages underground. Parking costs $30 a day and they charge $75 a day for incidentals that they say will be refunded. When I needed assistance or had to ask a question, the front desk alwsys asked to put me on a brief hold. After this happened twice and waiting 10 minutes on hold before hanging up, when they asked if I coukd hold, I said no and immediately went into my question. When we needed to, we had to ask for it twice about 45 minutes apart. Overall, nice hotel with comfy beds, but staff us inattentive and garage is a mess!

Extremely dirty & old rooms, hairs on the carpet, stained toilet, stained shower curtains. HOT. Our room was set at 60 degrees and it felt 85. Their “self parking” is useless because you have to have a car under 6 feet. My truck is not lifted at all and wouldn’t fit… So, you’re forced to pay the $40/day valet fee. The “shuttle”, (which was most of the reason why we chose this hotel) has been “out of service” for seemingly a long time and they haven’t updated their website. I will say, the front desk workers were very kind. Not worth the money. Super sketchy people loitering outside at all hours.
