DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Istanbul Sirkeci

We loved our stay here! The rooms were very spacious and very clean. We had a room 2 queen sized beds in one room, which we've found is often hard to find when booking hotels outside of the US. The location is perfect, so close to lots of restaurants and bustling areas. The decor inside of the hotel added to the whole experience was very well done. We even had a welcome platter of fresh fruits and nuts waiting for us! This hotel was exactly what we needed for our Istanbul stay - would definitely recommend.

Perfect location to reach all major tourist spots within walking distance. Plenty of restaurants outside. Room was clean, I travelled alone and the size was great. Big bathroom, comfy bed, free WiFi and AC. The staff was so nice, super friendly, super accommodating, even when I asked for a little later check out it wasn’t a problem. It was my first time in Istanbul but I can definitely recommend the hotel and location and I felt very safe and welcomed. If you go by taxi to the airport just calculate enough time because during specific hours the traffic can get so bad within few minutes and then the taxi driver trying to charge you double or triple the prices. I got the first taxi driver myself and when we left the hotel he tried to cheat me with the price. I didn’t agree and he threw me out of the car, then I had to go back to the hotel and the hotel staff helped me finding a taxi driver who didn’t overcharge me and was super friendly.

I stayed for two nights on a weekday. The location is truly excellent and very convenient for exploring the old city. However, in terms of comfort, the stay fell a bit short of expectations. The sound from outside was quite noticeable, and the walls were so thin that I could clearly hear conversations from the neighboring room. While this may be somewhat understandable given the nature of buildings in the old town, the room itself was also very small and didn’t feel suitable for an extended stay. Breakfast was complimentary as a Hilton Honors Gold member. The restaurant staff were friendly and courteous, which I appreciated. However, the breakfast selection was quite limited, and I found the variety lacking. One disappointing point was that, despite being a Gold member, I was assigned a room on the first floor right in front of the elevator, which is generally considered one of the less desirable locations. During check-out, I witnessed another guest requesting an upgrade—and it was granted. This made me feel that room upgrades were available, which added to my disappointment. I understand that each hotel may have its own policy, but as someone who regularly stays with Hilton, I couldn’t help but feel a lack of recognition or welcome during this particular stay.
