DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Lafayette

I attended a family reunion recently, and stayed at this hotel. Brejai at the front desk provided me with a great room with a magnificent view of the bayou, the Pinhook Bridge and the hotel swimming pool. A buffet breakfast was available for a cost. The staff was friendly and caring. I had a great time. Thank you Hilton!

Meh is the overall feel of the place. Rooms were date/decent but noting spectacular. Needs updates in every way!! Front of the house staff were kind and on top of things. The house keeping staff is kind as well, but not very tidy or clean. Stayed for several days for a work conference that hosted at the hotel and never once heard a vacuum ran and trash that was in front of my door and in front of the stairs exit, remained the whole 4 day duration..so I can only imagine what other things are being neglected if nobody can pick up a nature-valley meal bar from the floor.

There was a youth baseball tournament in town and kids were running all over the lobby. Fine, I get that. However, the biggest issue is the management. Diamond members should be warned that you aren't able to use the Lounge unless you get a room on the 15th floor. It's 'manager discretion' according to the front desk and you apparently get a F&B credit, but none of that is communicated to you when you book the place. I couldn't even take advantage of the 'credit' either because the bar crossed out the ability to charge things to the room. Very shady practices going on, and it's really crazy how members get treated so differently from Hilton to Hilton. Booked a different property for a longer stay this week because I don't want to deal with the headache, nor should I. Manager didn’t even bother to respond back to my email I sent back to him either.
