DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Memphis

This hotel was great for what we needed for the night, just passing through on a road trip. A longer stay wouldn’t be appropriate for us, the room was very small and air conditioning was only in the bedroom, not the bathroom. The a/c was provided by a wall unit. Check-in was very easy, the front desk person was stellar.

Nice location, good places to eat within walking distance, my room wasn’t the cleanest but after discussing it with front desk they upgraded me to suite and my stay became much better. Although they were having issues with the elevator so guest had to use the service elevator for employees. Someone got stuck in the elevator but not for long and they have glass elevator so it worked out fine, no harm was done . The front desk staff were nice and courteous, and accommodating

For service I'm giving a one star simply because one of their female housekeepers went in my room and stole my black JBL headphones. I didn't even request service so she had absolutely no business in my room. I contacted the hotel and was directed to speak with to the housekeeping manager, who initially began to look into the situation and acted as if she were handling it but I never got a resolution to the problem and, not even a follow up. I'm sure she still has her job.
