This hotel should be a shame. The rooms for the most part was clean. The sheets had stains on them. Even after cleaning the room left the stained sheets on the bed. The wood on the end of the bed kept falling off. The curtains in our room was ripped like a cat had clawed it. And to top that off they have nerve to charge $21.99 per person for breakfast. I didn't see anything down there worth that per person. Too expensive for breakfast. The remote to the TV the front part just pop off. They did fix that. The staff was pretty friendly. I just feel like this hotel needs to be remodel. The rooms don't have a microwave or a small refrigerator? Most hotel offer both. The beds wasn't comfortable 😕. I was very disappointed. Want ever stay at a Double Tree again. My husband and was in town for a family reunion. The only convenient things was some of the sties where within walking distance.
The hotel initially gives the appearance of being a nice one but when you look a little closer, you start to notice that it is not up to the standards of other Doubletree hotels. The chairs in the lobby were filthy and I was shocked that they had them right out in front in the lobby. (See pic)We stayed two days and the first day after checking in and dropping our bags, we returned to find water all over our bathroom floor coming from our toilet. They repaired it quickly but that was only the first of our grievances. The biggest thing is the horrible musty smell in the room. The light switch from the entrance of the room didn’t work so I had to come all the way across the room in the dark. I banged my leg on the end of the bed and put a little gash in my shin. I did notify the front desk but they didn’t put the cushions on both sides of the beds.(There was only one on each bed. Pics included) I may have been able to overlook some of it if a free breakfast was part of the deal but you have to pay for breakfast. The best thing was the bed was super comfortable. There weren’t enough towels in the room for two guests which the front desk said you can pick up additional ones at the front desk which I did. I noticed while sitting in the lobby that the one people at the front desk get a lot of complaints. I’d rate them at 3 stars and probably wouldn’t stay again unless they have renovated.
I have a king deluxe room (larger room with 2 TVs). For a Double Tree, I expect a lot more. AC is set to 66 degrees, it may be 72 in the room. I lay my head on the pillows and they immediately go flat. These pillows are easily 5+ years old. There’s all sort of black lent (what I’m telling myself it is) on my comforter. I don’t think the carpeting has been replaced in 20+ years based on its condition. Drywall is deteriorating. Shower walls have a few strands of hair on it from a previous guest. Furniture is 25+ years old. On the positive side, the bed is reasonably comfortable. I can tell it doesn’t feel as bad as the rest of the room would have me think it should feel. Receptionist was pleasant and professional. I will not stay at this location again because of the pillows not providing hardly any head/neck support and the AC is not keeping me cool. There’s like 150 rooms in this entire facility. It costs $36/room for 4 new, quality pillows from Sam’s Club. For $450/month this whole facility can rotate in new pillows 12 months. I’d expect this type of room from a Days Inn for $80/night, not a Double Tree that’s getting me for $200 after taxes and parking.
