Stunning views from the 15th floor! We enjoyed our stay immensely at this Double Tree location. Staff were very friendly and the lobby restaurant was open all day making it a great place to grab a drink or a bite. We got good weather and enjoyed a hot sunny afternoon by the pool, which was very clean and refreshing. Plenty of lounge or table seats and towels available too! We were able to walk to some nice restaurants not too far and it seemed like we were a 10-15 minute drive from about everything else we wanted to do. So we were very happy with the location. Highly recommend staying on the top door and the views of Mt. Hood were jaw dropping. We were there for about 4 days and found the hotel to be quite enough for getting our work done, but definitely saw more people there over the weekend. There’s a nice park directly across from the hotel which was a nice green space to walk through in the early afternoon.
I was really disappointed with my stay at the DoubleTree Hilton. For over \$200 a night, I expected a lot more in terms of comfort and amenities. The room was clean but very basic—no mini fridge, no bathtub, just a standard shower and bed. For that price, I honestly thought there would be a few more thoughtful touches. The breakfast buffet was disappointing, We paid over $50 for two people for eggs and overcooked bacon—nothing special, and definitely not worth the cost. It felt like they were charging luxury prices without providing a luxury experience. The staff was polite, but that alone doesn’t make up for the lack of value. I’ve stayed at mid-range hotels that offered more for half the price. I wouldn’t choose this hotel again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting comfort or value for their money.
Avoid this hotel. The only redeeming quality is the employees are great, incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are tiny and cramped. The bathroom is ridiculous, you have to get in and step around the toilet to close the door, so you can open the shower door. That's so ething I've only seen in places like New York or London, I sane to see a tiny and cramped bathroom in Portland. It's also insane I'm going to comment on the pillow and I always been able to sleep on anything and it never mattered. The pillows there are the absolute worst, so bad I'm actually mentioning them even though I've never had to give a thought to pillows before. The halls generally have trash in them that isn't cleaned up. The location is pretty awful, unless you are staying there just to be close to the convention center, it makes little sense to book it. The rooms are also very dated, and again the bathrooms need attention. The showers are pretty dirty with stained grout and you want to consider shower shoes when using it. Overall a horrible experience and one that heavily contributed to me cutting my trip short to avoid spending another night there. I know what it sounds like, but it was really that bad, bad enough to make me leave a review instead of doing nothing (my default mode).
