The hotel was nice and clean. Rooms were comfortable and the staff were very nice. BUT there are no included extras. There is a parking ramp and you pay for parking. There’s a breakfast buffet that is $20. Nowhere is it clearly posted except online. We did pay for the buffet, what was offered was not worth the money at all, we just paid for the convenience of not having to get ready to go out to a restaurant. It is not a buffet by any means the only hot food options were prepackaged sandwiches you can warm in the microwave or waffles that are offered at every rinky dink hotel. It was all really confusing. While we were eating the buffet there was a couple that dished up plates and then got told they would be charged $20 each. They were not happy and walked out. There were numerous other people who were confused/disappointed by the whole breakfast set up coming in while we ate. While listening to the staff try to explain how breakfast worked (there was a serious language barrier) we found out that you can also get the food a la carte. Sigh. Had that been explained to begin with I wouldn’t have paid $20 for the buffet just to get a prepackaged microwave sandwich and some fruit. I would’ve stuck with just the sandwich. So all in all a nice comfortable place to stay, just steer clear of the “breakfast buffet” trap.
traveling for business in the St. Paul Minneapolis area, stayed here for a couple nights. Rooms were clean hotel was nice. beds were a little hard. The continental breakfast was the only downer. They could do much better than a waffle and some fruit.
Literally go anywhere else!! I’ve stayed be before and the quality has become so bad since I was here last year. No warm cookies, no friendly staff, no clean rooms, I paid good money and got horrid service. This place must be severely understaffed or they were not ready for the amount of people at the hotel this last weekend for the festival. We arrived at 2:45 for our 3pm check in time. There was already a long line for check in and only one employee working the desk. He wasn’t even a front desk employee!! He was apologizing to everyone since he normally works in the back and didn’t know everything. Totally understandable, but when it was my turn I was informed I didn’t have a room… I prepaid and booked through the festival website so I knew that was wrong. I stepped aside so he could help other customers while figuring out what was going on. The line was getting longer and longer and after about 20 minutes 2 women came out of an office to help. I needed to use the restroom but there isn’t one in the lobby and I didn’t have a room to go to after a 4 hour drive. When I was finally helped again I was informed I did have a room but it was still dirty and unavailable, it was now 3:20 by this point, and they didn’t have a timeline for when my room would be cleaned. I didn’t want to leave my bags in the car and go to the festival since it’s not the best part of town. After helping more customers and running into at least 4 other groups in the lobby with the same problem they called housekeeping and the rooms were cleaned. Once we finally got checked in and up to our room but missed a large portion of the concert due to all of this. The room itself was not cleaned, there was hair in the sink, bathtub, and the bathroom floor was still wet, along with no towels in the room. The room is outdated with gross discolored shower curtains, visible patched holes in the walls, no AC or if there was we didn’t feel it and the window barely cracked open. When we would come back the night shift staff were unhelpful and every question was met with “ask the morning staff”, we tried to purchase snacks from the lobby but he was talking with another worker while we stood there for 10 minutes before putting the snacks on the counter and walking away. I was not informed about parking or that the Hotel had a deal with the lot to pay a flat fee instead of an hourly fee. Instead I found out from another guest. At no point through this stay were we offered any kind of apology or compensation. I don’t recommend people stay here and instead should go look at the residence inn about a mile away, they have valet parking, clean and updated rooms, nicer and more accommodating staff as well. My friend stayed there and we spent the majority of our time there since it was so nice and close walking distance to restaurants.
