DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Vancouver

First of all the hotel is in complete renovation. Now, I've been to hotels during renovations BUT, this hotel should have closed due to its limited services. - elevator out of order so could have a room on level 1 only. I do not like rooms on ground floor due to safety reasons. - we were told level 1 were the only rooms available to guests because rooms on all the other floors were in renovation phases. - dumpster and trash outside our window. - plastic on floor in hallway. - we had to ask for another chair in our room because we were told the sofas are stuck in China. We asked for rate adjustment and initially was told "no". Called Hilton customer service and they encouraged us to talk with front desk. Day 2 we spoke with front desk and they discounted room $20 per night (5 night stay).....the room is not worth $180 a night. They know this hotel is unfit but they did not make that fully known. Under construction doesn't adequately describe the condition. This review is dated 6/14/2025. We are Hilton Honors members but this stay we do not feel honored at all! Rip Off!! Update: Yes, the hotel offered to relieve us of our reservation without penalty. However, I've traveled a half day and the last thing I want to do is search for another hotel. My complaint is cost to value during hotel renovations. We had a commitment to the Hilton Brand but clearly Hilton has no commitment to us - something to reconsider.

This stay was incredibly disappointing and honestly concerning from a health and safety perspective. We checked in quickly since we were meeting friends, dropped our stuff off and went on our way. When we returned and walked through the door, the musty smell was pretty awful and hit us like a wall. We at first chalked it up to stale air until I went to the restroom and looked up. The entire ceiling was covered in mold. I immediately brought it to the front desk’s attention, expecting a quick room change or at least some action. Instead we were met with “unfortunately there’s nothing we can do, you’ll have to talk to my manager in the morning.” Cancelling wasn’t even an option at the time or assistance finding a more suitable, liveable hotel since they had no more rooms available. Promptly talking to the manager on duty, considering the outcome we are not totally pleased. I’ll never stay at a double tree again. *Edit after talking to a supervisor in customer service* We called the customer service number and spoke to Neil, and his supervisor also named Neil. They were extremely helpful and accommodating. They took care of us and made sure we were taken care of. I’m much more pleased with the outcome after speaking with them. I still do not recommend this double tree though.

This place is a dump! The elevators don’t work, they are going through renovations and they didn’t disclose any of this when I booked the rooms. Every towel in the room is covered in stains and they only have one chair in a two bedroom suite. Breakfast is an added $12.95 for a crap Continental choice. The front desk receptionist was rude as well when checking in. They have a no refund policy in place, so I wish I didn’t pay in advance.
