DoubleTree by Hilton Istanbul Gayrettepe

I stayed here for a family vacation, and had a remarkable experience. The hospitality of all team members was top notch. The breakfast selection was good; enjoyed the made to order items. The location is very central, right next to Metro Station plus three malls are at a walking distance. I will definitely stay here next time when I visit Istanbul. Special thanks to Taylan and Eren.

My wife and I stayed here for a week. We had a really good experience. Most importantly, the rooms were very clean. We always check the mattress and such before we even put our bags in the room. It was spotless. Breakfast was good and fresh. Our cleaning lady, if I’m spelling this correctly, Sonğül, was very accommodating and kind. She gave us extra water bottles when we asked and seemed to work around our availability in cleaning the room. The bellboy, Eren Türk, helped us with our bags in and out. For health reasons at the time I could not lift anything over 20 pounds. He made sure I didn’t have to, even though we had a tremendous amount of luggage. We would recommend this hotel and the people who work there.

Look the staff are good people and they want to help. The problem is the room has a strange smell to it and the air condition is very weak. If you want to change the temperature you can’t do it from your room the reception has to do it for you. Then I waited for 2-3 hours for the room to become cold. This is not acceptable. It’s not a five star hotel. The rooms are old and seem like a 3 star hotel. But, good manager and good people, bad air condition policy and they need to do deep cleaning to fix the smell issue.
