I can understand the reviews and comments from others. After the shuttle debacle in the morning due to our 6am arrival (to be fair I assumed it would be like every other LAX hotel and I wouldn't need to call) we waited in the lobby for 3 or so hours before checking in, and I heard a lot of conversations as people checked out. I spoke to Expedia and noted the issues people were flagging and asked if I could get a refund if it was needed. The manager let us inspect the room before we checked in, and it was fine, so we stayed. In the end we enjoyed it. The highlight was Mattel next door, which we went to when it opened in the morning and got an exclusive toy. The breakfast was also good, and we had a drink at night at the bar, it was nice. Pool was a little cold, but that is a very personal preference, others in my party loved it. So yes, there is a huge variety of experiences at this place, but I would be willing to stay again, now I know the ins and outs.

Solid 4/5. Positives first— if you’re flying in for business and staying within the El Segundo area you cannot beat this location. Lots of diverse stores and shopping within walking distance. For all my nostalgic people, get this, it’s right next to the Mattel building 🤓. Sticking to the positives the entryway and palm trees around the perimeter were very appealing and housekeeping came through without asking 👍🏾. 3 main gripes were Customer service, overall state of the decor and hot tub was covered in July 🙄. 1. Not so attentive or outgoing staff at the restaurant, who clearly did not seem to care about anyone who walked in. The breakfast bar was pretty basic but the breakfast burrito and fruit option was on point. 2.Depending on how hard you look at the rooms and hallways is up to you. But… from my highly analytical perspective I saw lots of room for improvement in all areas of the hallways and rooms. Pics will show you what I mean😉. 3. I tend to stick to DTs bc of their indoor pools and hot tubs being open year round yet this locations hot tub was still wrapped and cordoned off in JULY?!?? Every review is subjective but from an objective standpoint, I really enjoyed my stay mainly because of the location and super tall palm trees. Again objectively a hotel should aim for the guests to have the feeling of being welcomed and in a clean environment. For me this was not achieved. For the manager, restaurant service and room renovations are key areas for improvement. ✌🏾🙏🏾

This hotel is a short shuttle ride from LAX, located amongst lots of corporate office buildings. The hotel’s photos online make it look much nicer than it does in person. I waited 35 minutes for the shuttle and it made one stop on the way. Upon arrival to the airport, I checked in with no upgrade offered. The app says they will do their best to upgrade you. I was offered the cookies but not the waters. I asked and was told they are only for Honors members. I said I was Diamond, and they had to confirm. The hallways are musty smelling and the carpets could use a deep clean. The room is okay, but the furniture is showing signs of wear. The HVAC is somewhat loud. Bed was comfortable but the my provide three pillows for a king. There were small holes in the wall as if pictures or hooks were missing. The bathroom had old towels that should’ve been discarded. The toilet tissue holder was missing and there was plenty of mildew along the lower grout/caulk lines. Water is hot and the light is motion activated. I did eat at the restaurant and it is visually appealing. The menu is reasonably priced though you cannot use your credit to cover most items. There was one server so service was slow — but she was really nice. The draft beer was under carbonated and warm. They said it felt cold to them. I would not recommend a draft! Shuttle only runs on the hour when leaving the hotel and if you need to be at the airport before 630 AM you need to pay for a shuttle ($15 per person). The shuttle is overcrowded with luggage stacked on floor, people standing, and bags being held by passengers. They require sign up and then do not enforce it. Disastrous. This property is not one I would recommend.
