We stayed in this Double Tree hotel for the first time. Having never stayed in a Double Tree hotel before, we were very excited to find that this location was phenomenal. The location was perfect: there were restaurants, gas stations, and convenience stores within walking distance. The hotel itself is in a well maintained area. The parking lot was well lit, the grounds were landscaped well, and the front entrance was beautiful. Inside the hotel, the front desk is to the left and the staff greeted us warmly with fresh cookies! (They even had gluten free chocolate chip cookies!) Upon receiving our key cards, we took the elevator up to the third floor and we were pleased to find that the hallways were clean and the room was immaculate. We had a view of a busy street but we were never bothered by the noise. The shower and sink were huge and it was nice to have a lot of room in the bathroom. After getting a great night's sleep, we ventured to the onsite restaurant to check out the breakfast area (breakfast is not included in your stay at Double Tree Hotels.) We were disappointed to find that the selection was sparse for $15 a plate and with having many dietary restrictions we could not eat there, so we decided to go to a local diner instead. All in all, this hotel is in a great location, it is well maintained and the service was wonderful. Even though we could not eat any of the breakfast foods offered at the restaurant, we still found ourselves saying that we should stay at a Double Tree location again. Thank you for your hospitality!
This is an older hotel with a lot of character. It reminds me of an old ski lodge. Lots of wood in the lobby as well as the rooms. The rooms are a bit bigger and set up nicely. The bathrooms have been renovated to bring them up to date. I am a fan of character, so I liked this location with two exceptions. First of all, they lose a point for having small 42” TVs. You can have character with good amenities and all hotels at this point should have at least 50” TVs. Also, I think all hotels at this point should have some sort of snack shop, especially now that Hilton has gone cheap and closed most of the lounges. All in all, it is nice quaint hotel in a good location, and I enjoyed my stay.
The hotel is dated. The AC blew foul-smelling air all night, very loudly. The staff were fairly friendly. We had breakfast at their restaurant, for the $15/person, the pancake house around the corner is a better option with something besides a warm continental breakfast that is usually included in many hotel stays.
