I did a package with 8 days car parking. Parked the car and came back at the end of the trip to stay overnight having landed after midnight. There's no shuttle to the airport after midnight and despite being ripped off by a taxi for £20 the hotel reimbursed it. I was very impressed. They did everything possible to make the parking and the stay as easy as possible, a great team of staff, nice rooms and generally a high standard for an airport hotel. Will definitely stay again when travelling in or out of Manchester airport.
Stayed here for a 10h layover to catch some sleep after travelling for a day and heading for our last leg of the trip. Was greeted wonderfully by the receptionist, even received some beautiful warm chocolate chip cookies (which was highly appreciated). Got some info on checking back into the airport for our early flight and we’re so glad we took the recommendation, otherwise we would’ve missed our flight (different regulations about check in times in Norway, that we were used to). Checking out at 4am was a breeze, and the gentleman in the reception at check out was also wonderfully cheerful which lifted our not-so-early bird moods. Rooms were clean and quite lavish and spacious for the price, bed were insanely comfortable, and bathroom had lots of space for even two to get ready at the same time.
The hotel is in a naff location, separated from everything by a very busy 4 lane road. You can easily spend 10 minutes waiting for a gap before chancing it. The hotel is quite dated and tired. The window wouldn’t close, meaning that noise from vehicles and aircraft was a disturbance. The fridge in the room had been removed leaving an empty space and the shower pressure was nothing more than a dribble. Check-in process was convoluted and drawn out with a hostile vibe. The service in the restaurant left a lot to be desired. It was practically empty, but was told because I hadn’t booked I couldn’t be seated. I then made a booking, for 15 minutes later, but like a naughty child was made to sit in the bar until the 15 minutes had passed as punishment for not booking. The photo shows just how “busy” it was at the time and the food was nothing to write home about. There is a wide selection of very good airport hotels at Manchester. This is certainly NOT one of them.
