DoubleTree by Hilton Minneapolis Park Place

Nice clean hotel, friendly staff, comfortable beds. The 4/5 stars for service: our room reservation stated breakfast included. The buffet is set up inside the hotel restaurant. Standard free breakfast fare: scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, potatoes, bacon, cereal, fruit, etc. After eating our cold eggs bacon potatoes and slice of bread, the "waitress" brought us a bill. $45+!!!! 😱 No one in their right mind would pay that ridiculous amount of money for cold eggs!! If we had known that we would have to pay for our free breakfast, we would have ordered from the menu. After telling the waitress our breakfast was supposed to be included with our reservation and we would talk to the front desk before agreeing to pay the bill. The front desk attendant said our reservation didn't show we were supposed to get the free breakfast, but apologized and gave us coupons to cover our each of our meals. Tip- make sure if your reservation is supposed to include the free breakfast buffet, the front desk is aware.

We will NEVER stay here (or at another DoubleTree) again! Hotel is dated and needs some updating - I can deal with that. What I can't deal with is the blatant uncleanliness and dust - and the lack of care for basic maintenance. Our beds did not have a fitted sheet on them - a flat sheet was used. The bathroom counter wasn't cleaned. Our entire room was dust ridden. I woke up with swollen eyes and a stuffy nose from the AC unit. If you have allergies, don't stay here! We had a cricket (I think) in our bathroom. I could go on and on. You can see pics by going to my profile.

Our rooms had bed bugs and reported to the hotel. There were no procedure in place for the hotel. We had a hard time and had to disinfect everything on our own. I would not recommend it at all. Please don't take the 9th floor. Very sad. I still have all the pictures I took too. I had to google what bed bugs look like to confirm, and it was a huge red ones.
