I stayed one night at the DoubleTree by Hilton New Bern Riverfront and had a good overall experience. The highlight of the stay was definitely the beautiful river view from the room. Watching the sunrise and sunset over the water was truly peaceful and picturesque. Although we did not use the pool or fitness center, we did dine at the on-site restaurant, which also has a lovely view of the river. The atmosphere was relaxing, making for a pleasant experience. The hotel offers complimentary self-parking and the lobby area was spacious, clean, and welcoming. As for the room, we had no complaints. It was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. All staff was also helpful and nice.

Book to stay for 4 nights. Cost over $800 Price wise, I’ve stayed at better places Wedding party stayed here as well The view of the room is nice, customer service at desk is great. However, breakfast is not complimentary, my room/friends/family room did not get cleaned ONCE during our stay. First night, understandable 2nd day, I was gone most of the day. By the time I got home it was too late to ask 3rd day was wedding day, so I was too busy but I thought they would stop by since it’s been 2 days 4 night, disappointed, it is what it is at that point. No new water bottles, no new towels replacement, trash was not taken care of, bed was not made. The room has a weird smell to it, had to keep the AC running to prevent the old smell Also the first night I stayed, my sheet was put on incorrectly and right when I got in the sheet came off the bed. I will give this 2 stars for location. Close to downtown and the airport

The location of this hotel is probably its only strong point. Upon arrival, there was just one person working at the front desk. She was kind and helpful, but unfortunately, things went downhill from there. When I entered my room, it was immediately clear the bathroom had not been cleaned—there were urine stains, dark hairs all over, and even residue in the sink. The water pressure was weak, the hot water barely worked, and the tub didn’t drain properly, so I ended up standing in several inches of water during my shower. After a long drive, this was extremely disappointing. The bed was just as bad! Clearly not cleaned or changed. There were hairs all over the sheets and noticeable stains on the pillowcases. With no housekeeping available on a Friday night, I had to go back to the front desk to ask for clean sheets and make the bed myself. I find it unacceptable that no housekeeping staff was present during what should be a peak night for check-ins. When I checked out, I couldn’t find a manager and no one even asked how my stay was, which could’ve been a chance to address my concerns. For $380 a night, with no breakfast included…… I expected a much better experience. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel. If you’re considering staying here, you’re better off booking a room at the Courtyard by Marriott. Which is what I should’ve done.
