The location of this hotel is amazing — right in Midtown and walking distance to just about everything. We had a great view from the 22nd floor, and the beds were super comfy. Showers were nice (when they worked), and the staff was consistently friendly throughout our stay. That said, I can’t give more than 3 stars due to a few major inconveniences. First, the hotel only has 2 elevators for a 26-story building, which led to long wait times even when both were functioning. On our last morning, one elevator was out of service. We waited over 10 minutes for the other one (which was full by the time it reached our floor), and ended up taking 22 flights of stairs down so we wouldn't miss our flight. Even worse, there was no water at all on our last morning — no showers, no flushing toilets, no washing hands, nothing. I felt bad leaving a, let’s just say, “solid” goodbye in the toilet before realizing there was no way to flush. I went down to find the lobby full of frustrated guests demanding refunds. The staff said the water outage was due to an issue out of their control, and they were kind enough to offer bottled water and personally assured me I’d get a 50% refund on the final night (which would be around $200). But as of now, I haven’t seen any refund or follow-up, which is frustrating. I understand things happen, and the staff was kind through it all — but for the most expensive hotel I’ve ever stayed in (over $1300 for 3 nights), I expected better handling of issues like these. At the very least, some proactive communication or a hotel-wide discount on the last night would’ve helped ease the sting. Overall, we had a wonderful time in NYC, but I won’t be staying here again. Next time I’ll book somewhere a little cheaper outside the city.

The location is great. Walking distance to all the important Manhattan spots. But I can’t write a lot of good stuff about the hotel itself. The lobby is narrow. The rooms are small and the drainage system has issues. Our bathroom was leaking and there was an issue with the toilet as well. Not worth $300/ night at all, might as well search something better for the same price.

The DoubleTree Hotel Staff was great but I was very disappointed in room condition. The bathroom fan was not working and overall condition of the room just okay not great. Considering the price I feel this room was sub standard. Location was great but room was just acceptable and nothing to write to family and friends about.
