DoubleTree by Hilton Portland Tigard

We recently stayed here while a family member was in the hospital and I can’t recommend this hotel enough! Its location is convenient, rooms and hotel are clean, and it has a pool and a limited continental breakfast. However the standout of this hotel is the customer service, specifically Iman, the front office supervisor. She was always welcoming, checking on us and offering anything we needed to make our stay more enjoyable. She went above and beyond consistently, making us feel so valued and cared for. I can’t express enough how much this meant to us during our stay and we will always be grateful for the kindness shown by Iman. She is a treasure and I will always recommend this hotel because of her.

Pros: $15 hotel credit per person per night for Gold Honor membership (we had two people, so $30), convenient location, close to malls and shopping centers, and major highways. Cons: amenities are pretty standard, rooms and equipment are not necessarily up-to-date. Overall is hotel provides very high value for your money -- excellent service, good availability, at a reasonable rate.

The common areas were nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was the only issue. It smelled musty and smoky. It probably was a former smoking room. I don't know how any other rooms were, but the odor in mine was strong. I paid a reasonable rate, which made the smell a little less of an issue.
