DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre

I recently stayed for two nights at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Rotterdam with a friend, and I must say—this was an exceptional experience. The view from our room overlooking the nearby harbor was absolutely stunning, and the beds were incredibly soft and comfortable. Every detail of our stay contributed to a relaxing and memorable visit. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the outstanding service from the staff—especially Kenny from the reception team. Kenny went above and beyond to make our stay not just good, but truly wonderful. He answered all our questions about the hotel and the city with enthusiasm, offered excellent recommendations for places to visit, and handled every request with warmth and professionalism. When we inquired about the spa facilities, Kenny was considerate and transparent in letting us know they were under maintenance—communicating this with such tact that we still felt fully cared for. He also took the extra step of ensuring that we could stay in the same room for both nights, even though we had separate reservations. This thoughtfulness brought a sense of calm and continuity to our stay that we truly appreciated. Having stayed in many hotels around the world, I can confidently say that Kenny’s level of service rivals that of high-end luxury properties such as the Waldorf Astoria. It is rare to encounter someone who is not only highly competent, but who also genuinely cares about creating a meaningful guest experience. Kenny is the kind of hands-on professional you can rely on to get things done with both practicality and grace. DoubleTree, you’ve done well—please extend my heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to Kenny. He made all the difference. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, quality stay with staff that deliver service worthy of a five-star rating. Also, the Starbucks coffee machine in the lobby? Amazing! I could honestly come back to Rotterdam just to stay at this hotel again.

I never stay at this hotel but booked last October for a 4 day stay. As we wanted to incorporate visiting the family with carnival weekend we chose this hotel as it's set back (0.8 miles from city centre) close enough but away from the noise. It also has a spa. Not bad. A little disappointed as housekeeping was a little sloppy and the spa was out of service but nothing life threatening. The view of the rear from the breakfast room is relaxing.

I had mixed experiences here. The location was good for my needs, visiting Rotterdam as a tourist. I walked everywhere. The first room I was given was facing the harbor, beautiful. However the water kettle has a slimy scum in the bottom, the shower did not drain causing water to go all over the bathroom floor and spill out to the room, and the mattress was so worn out I sank to the floor when I sat on the edge. I went to reception and they changed me. But due to construction I had to take 2 different elevators to get to newly assigned room. There is a sign posted regarding the construction, however that does not give the excuse not to clean the buttons in the elevator. They were that way for 2 days The bathroom design was horrible. It was huge, but the toilet was crammed in the corner by the wall. The shower has the faucet on the opposite side than the shower head. The intended idea behind this is so a person can turn it on and not get sprayed immediately. Well whomever installed the door had it opening in the wrong direction. But I then realized why it was the wrong direction, it is because it wouldn't swing the way it should because the elevated drain was in the way. Basic engineering failed here! I opted for valet parking, however no one ever moved my car from the handicapped spot I parked in when I went into hotel to check in. 35€ is also a hefty price to park. The only way I would recommend this place is after all the renovations are completed. Stay was April 2025. See photos and videos.
