The hotel was fantastic (especially after staying in some pretty questionable hotels on our road trip that were not supposed to be questionable) the rooms were clean, no weird smell in the rooms, the beds were comfortable, they were very accommodating. We stayed in a dog friendly room with our dog and the room was so nice you would not have known it was pet friendly. The bathroom was clean, weird spot on the mirror and some water stains. But the water pressure was actually great for California and the hot water was HOT but the faucet handle is the opposite. Cold is hot and hot is cold. The hotel was one of the best prices around for what we were needing. So expectations weren’t sky high. But it was clean, friendly, front desk was fast, rooms were big and comfortable. Cable tv worked great. They had coffee in the room with little creamer pods. Floor was clean, toilet, shower, sink, everything was clean. Location is good. Right next to the airport so it is a little loud sometimes but my 3 year old slept through it great. Room was quiet. If you’re wanting a safe bet to lay your head for the night without cockroaches, cigarette smells, pee smell, questionable people in the lobby, then this is the place to stay. Overall fantastic experience. There was some hidden fees. Like the parking and service fee and some other things they didn’t mention or show the price of which was a little frustrating. It added another $70 on our hotel bill. But it was nice, clean and basic.
Huge disappointment right away during check-in, room 705 from august 1st to aug 2 with a 40$ fee for parking... And the cherry on the cake with a swimming pool closed for maintenance... We chose the hotel for the pool.. The result is the high price of the Double Tree was even more disappointing down the road. Please mention on every website when u have facilities closed because some people will book especially for the facilities. Room AC is the one u see in the motels, very loud, definitely not a high standing hotel. They are using the Hilton name to make money. Outdated hotel and cleanliness issue, see pictures. Bed and pillows had stong smell of cheese. Water pressure in the shower is the weakest I've seen in a long time. Very noisy area with highway just beside the hotel and not pretty surroundings. Isolation is bad, too. Response from management with useless apologies will be ignored. People dont be fooled by this hotel and do deeper research. There are so many better places to stay around SF and the airport. It's definitely not worth the price. Unfortunately, I did not respect rule number 1 of taking time to book a place and read reviews because in the rush. I mistake I made and hope you dont make.
I arrived just five minutes after check-in began and was immediately told that my room was not ready. When I asked how long it would take, I was given the incredibly helpful response of “no idea, check back shortly.” After waiting around for 45 minutes to an hour, I asked again—only to be told the room was still not ready. At that point, I was suddenly offered a different room “that happens to be ready now.” With zero information on when my original room would be available, I had no choice but to accept the alternative. Fast forward to check-out, and I find I’ve been charged the full price for a downgraded room. When I called the property to clarify, the morning staff told me there were no delays and no downgrade. If that’s true, then maybe someone can explain why I had to wait over an hour, being given vague answers and ultimately ending up in a room I never booked. Even more insulting was being told that I was “checked in right away,” which directly contradicts reality and suggests your staff is either misinformed or implying I’m fabricating the experience. If that’s the case, I strongly encourage management to check the front desk cameras between 3 and 4 PM (06/28/25) and determine who’s actually lying here—because it’s certainly not me. To top it off, after all that waiting around for the “cleaning staff,” the room I finally got had an empty body soap bottle. Isn’t it basic procedure for housekeeping to check that after every guest checks out? Or is that too much to expect? If I could give a negative rating for customer service, I absolutely would.
