DoubleTree by Hilton San Pedro Port of Los Angeles

Our stay was as expected, the bed and amenities were great! Since the hotel is a bit secluded from the main area, it was quiet and relaxing. The pool and hot tub were clean and refreshing. This hotel provides lots of parking which made it very easy. The staff were kind and thoughtful as well. All in all, I would recommend to stay at this hotel.

I just finished my stay at this hotel. I was here on business. The people who work at the hotel are very friendly from the front desk to the restaurant staff to the custodial staff. However. The air conditioning in my room did not work. I called the front desk about it three separate times over the course of 3 days, was told maintenance would come look at it and they never showed. The room also did not have a mini fridge or a microwave- which wasn’t a big deal but if I was traveling with family it would have been. Finally, one night I had to call for room service (because I was waiting for maintenance!!!!) and was told room service was not available, however, I could place and order food to pick up and they will call me when it was ready. An hour later- no call and no maintenance. So, I called back and the lady was VERY apologetic. She had forgotten my room number so couldn’t call me. She was very very sweet about it and gave part of my order free. The problem was I had ordered fries and they were cold and soggy. Since I didn’t have a microwave there was no way to heat them. Finally, there seemed to be constant noise at night coming from the room above me. It didn’t sound like the typical noise guests would make, it almost sounded like there was a storage or maintenance room above me and people were moving things around. I stayed on the 2nd floor. Although the bed was very comfortable, I never got a good night sleep. This hotel has the capability to have 5 star rating. It could do better. However, if I am ever back in the area I would not choose to stay at this hotel.

The location from the start is amazing. All around the building is beauty and areas to walk and see. The building is beautiful, the views are amazing and the ocean and boat sounds are remarkably relaxing. Here's the side of the blade that cuts deep... online its listed as having room service yet when you stay there, the staff will tell you they do not offer room service and they won't help to bring things up to your room unless asked specifically when you go down and get it. Lazy staff and lying to have to do less work is a terrible way to be in the hospitality industry. Rooms are nice, could offer better options for entertainment, staff said you cant use the input for external devices yet you can. Wifi is insanely slow, Hotspot is faster sadly. Mini fridge is always empty and the coffee maker was broken as was the new one that was brought over. The outlets didn't work and the window is bolted shut for no reason when it says the window opens yet below is a patio for the floor below.
