Sadly after years of service this grandfather’s clock has to pave way for a new dawn. I’m sure because of the wind down some items will need to be replaced altogether. However, let me get to the good news. The personnel at Double Tree by Hilton is second to none. Although we arrived late, Nick made sure we felt at home. Yes the parking was just like the one at home. Absolutely free and after a good rest thanks to the comfy beds and quality curtains that separate light and darkness we got into deep sleep and the next day was just as amazing. Nick had given us a briefing about the pool’s opening times and we felt fishy for time to glide in the water. We also had the privilege of experiencing the family room. Spacious and very cool, we went for the vegetarian omelette and the chef went all out. It was perfect. The location is perfect for when you want to grab a bite outside the hotel be it fish and chips, Afro Caribbean or some Asian Kebabs. All a short driving distance away. Keep up the good work double tree staff. Don’t lose the spirit of excellence in hospitality. Keep the flag high wherever you go.

I came here for business reasons and the hotel staff are magnificent, especially the night team comprising of two wonderful gentleman who deserved every poppadom I brought them. The rooms were comfortable and the shower not too bad! The only reason for a subtraction of a star is the silly glass pane that is used to block water from exiting the shower. It’s ineffective and makes the floor slippery. Please install a permanent fixture that extends further along the bathtub side. I’m no expert on showering appliances, but that’s my personal take on it. I loved the free bottles of water with the room, I find that to be such a wonderful feature of any room I stay in! The spa facilities were alright, the woman was very kind on the front desk. The steam room was far too cold to be classed as one, and had a strange odor to it. I won’t subtract stars for this as it’s not technically part of the hotel’s management. The bar staff were kind to me, especially the long-haired young fellow who made sure I got a lovely chicken Cesar salad for lunch! I recommend staying at this hotel. Parking’s free too!

I wrote an email to customer service and I have yet to receive a response. So I thought I would publicly write a review: The condition of our room was unacceptable. The air conditioner was not working, the fridge was not operational, bathroom shower gel had not been refilled and the telephone was also out of order. We had to open a window and were provided with a small fan in an attempt to keep the room cool. Despite these efforts, the room remained extremely uncomfortable throughout our stay (We were on the bottom floor facing a busy parking lot as a wedding had been going on) The relaxation area presented further issues. The pool, while warm, was situated in an extremely hot relaxation area, making it feel more like a sauna than a space for relaxation. The changing room offered no relief it was also extremely hot. Furthermore, the breakfast buffet was particularly uncomfortable due to a malfunctioning air conditioning system. As a result, a door was left open, which unfortunately allowed flies to enter and settle on the buffet. This is both unhygienic and unappetising. During breakfast, I also found that essential items and amenities were frequently depleted and not replenished in a timely manner. This included cutlery, various food options, and drinks, all of which we had to wait for repeatedly. Additionally, the coffee machine was unreliable, alternating between working and not working. While I would like to reiterate that your staff did their best under the circumstances, I believe that the current state of the hotel is unacceptable for guests. On a positive note, I would like to commend the receptionist on duty Saturday morning 28 June 2025, she was extremely helpful. She offered us some compensation. Her professionalism and assistance were greatly appreciated during a difficult experience. I still feel that these measures do not fully address the extent of the inconvenience and discomfort we experienced during our stay. I would therefore appreciate it if you could consider offering further compensation or taking additional steps to rectify this situation. I look forward to your response and to a resolution that reflects the standards of the Hilton brand
