Doubletree by Hilton Somerset Hotel and Conference Center

This was my third stay at the DoubleTree in Somerset, and I have to say—this visit was absolutely perfect. It’s true that this is an older property, and in the past I’ve noticed a few signs of wear (especially post-pandemic), but this time around, everything felt refreshed and well cared for. It’s as if they addressed all the little things from my prior visits—the room felt updated, clean, and truly comfortable. Check-in was smooth, I got my warm cookies (always a win), and appreciated the complimentary water bottles. I also love how peaceful this location is—no unnecessary disturbances, and the easy access to the highway makes it incredibly convenient for travel. If I had to offer one tiny critique, it’s that the electronics haven’t been updated to USB-C, but that’s honestly me nitpicking—it didn’t impact my experience in any meaningful way. I’ll absolutely be back. Solid stay, great service, and a location that can’t be beat.

The front desk people were amazing over the phone not as much as when I arrived at 4: 30pm. They then told me that of my service dog barks which is literally her job or part of her job that I would have to leave so I was not allowed to bring her I had to bring medical equipment instead. The outside pool closes at 8:00 p.m. which is weird because they have a bar but very easy to sneak into and no one bothered us when we did. The night staff is absolutely amazing funny and they mind their business. Daytime staff come the next morning threatened to keep $50 in my money if I wasn't out of their building by 12:00 p.m. which is crazy because as I do understand check out is at 11:00 a.m. I am disabled to take quite a little bit of time to get all the medical equipment together as well as my stuff and my nurses stuff they offered absolutely no help and I would have been out a lot faster having not made a comment about my dog My federally protected dog by the way. There was nothing wrong with the room yet the hold still has not been released from my credit card and it has been 2 days so I will just keep calling The inside pool looked gross and hot tub didn't work but I didn't catch ringworm from the outside pool so at least you knew it was clean. Room was clean, they follow my direction about putting me as close to an exit as possible, and I mean that's as much as you're going to get from that kind of hotel those rooms are not worth $206.00 plus 10 per person for breakfast.

It's a pretty decent place, the hot tub is currently down which was part of the reason I came.. So that's a bummer. Oh well 🤷🏾 *Update* You know this place really has the potential to be great if they cared a bit more where care is needed. Landscaping outside, get rid of all the garbage and trash out on the grounds, fix the mold issue in the indoor pool area, fix the hot tub, $16.95 a person for breakfast seems a bit much maybe $10 or less. Replace the washer and dryer in the laundry area with a more reasonable solution go back to coins or find a pay as use app company.
