This hotel, which is in a great location, needs some serious operation help. The restaurant ran out of espresso pods so no latte, no microwave so no hot milk, keys didn't work when arriving to our rooms after check-in. The food I ate for breakfast was very good. The service in the restaurant was very good. But they need to better equip the kitchen and someone to keep track of the inventory of items needed for the guests. You just can't run out of espresso pods when you're offering latte in the menu. We've tried to contact the hotel for several days before arrival and no one ever answered the phone. Had to go thru the main central Doubletree system. This is a very nice hotel to have this many issues.
Definitely misrepresented the Double Tree brand. While this is a nice quest location, the exterior and some of the interior need attention. Many cement patios along the exterior are cracked and crumbling, the wooden beams all around the property up near the roof line have water and/or dry rot and the grounds outside the patios that can't be seen from the front or parking lot are overgrown with weeds. The interior, while nice enough seems dim and dated, there were also many cracked floor tiles throughout. The room I stayed in was not in good shape- the carpet was very stained and a different color than other rooms (older), the toilet seat was peeling, the bathtub had a crack that was starting to rust and the tile grout was moldy under the support bars (ADA room). Unfortunately, even with my Hilton Gold status I could not get an upgrade nor even move to ANY other room as they were sold out. At least the beds and pillows were mostly comfortable. With the higher than justifiable nightly room cost, charging $22 for parking a night is a ridiculous addition. The hotel is not near any public transportation and has a huge lot. It's a small enough fee to just be annoying- parking should be included. Breakfast was another disappointment. My Hiltons Gold status usually includes breakfast, but at this location included a $15/person daily credit. Low and behold- there is nothing of substance for under $15. The coffee is awful, the English muffin I ordered the 1st day was over toasted and hard as a rock and the huevos chilaquiles I ordered another day was an overcooked fried egg on a large bowl of damp tortilla chips. The staff was mostly nice. Although, 3 out of 4 days- the cleaning crew did clean the bathroom floor, took towels and soap and did not replace them, and 1 day even took one of my bananas... (Yes- bought breakfast food for our remaining days and visited the Starbucks down the street) Won't be staying here again. Again- facility does not deserve the Double Tree brand name.
I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. Check-in was at 4 PM and check-out at 11 AM, which barely feels like a full night. We paid $300 for a one-room stay with two queen beds, but the experience was not worth the price. The balcony was shared with other rooms, the view was poor, and the pool was not clean. The room had old furniture, outdated appliances, broken outlets, and poor lighting. Some lamps didn’t work, and the bathroom fixtures were faulty. There were no toiletries provided, and the towels were worn out. The in-room phone didn’t work, and I couldn’t get help from the front desk easily. The parking area was unsafe, uncovered, and had no visible security. No help was offered with luggage, no real breakfast, and overall, the service did not reflect a 4-star hotel. I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone — it’s not a good option for families or those looking for comfort.
