DoubleTree by Hilton Southampton

Spent one night at the Hilton as it was my mum’s 70th birthday and we came to Southampton for a quick getaway since I only had two days off work! From the moment I checked in I knew I was going to enjoy my stay as the receptionist was very pleasant and check in was straight forward. We proceeded to our room which was an accessible one it was clean and had all we would need for such a brief stay, enough tea and coffee etc. also there was a complementary bottle of water which was appreciated. We booked a table for dinner and they did not disappoint! I had fish and chips and mum had mashed potatoes with braised beef in a red wine sauce it was delicious 😋. The surrounding was very nice so with could not miss out on taking pictures before proceeding to our room with our well fed tummy’s! Also breakfast was included and that did not disappoint either it was a well balanced selection something for everyone. Overall the place was clean and staff is friendly. I personally liked the location because it set in a quiet and peaceful area away from the hostel and bustle of the town centre so that was a plus for me! I could almost forget that I was in Southampton! There’s a decent size car park which you have to pay for but if you have a disabled badge it’s free parking once you register your registration in the reception area! I noticed that they also work with a local taxi 🚖 service should you need it! I’ve taken the liberty of taking as much photos for anyone who would like to go can have an idea. All in all our stay was excellent 👌 thank you to the Hilton hotel and team A*******

This is a lovely hotel, 15 minutes drive from the cruise terminal. It's clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. We requested a ground floor room because we don't like lifts and that's exactly what we got. 👍 The only downside was the air conditioning was a little too cold for us, it would have been nice if the weather had still been red hot, but it had turned colder, this was a minor thing though. If we cruise from Southampton again I will definitely book this hotel.

While the hotel is a bit out of the way from the city's main attractions, the location was great for anyone about to get on a cruise. The staff are incredibly helpful. Ben went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and more.
