DoubleTree by Hilton St. Louis Forest Park

Alex and Karen were nice and attentive. The location is great. I was in town for meetings at the hospital and found it convenient. I don’t understand the amount of bad reviews but I will say there was hair in the shower area in multiple spots and the tub needs to be replaced. Otherwise I don’t see the outdated part. I’d stay again if needed.

There was no other place to stay that was connected to the medical conference at the university so we stayed here. The suite was roomy. However the carpet was gross and the maid never came by. The furnishings are stark. Fine for a business trip. Bed was comfortable but a little soft. The front desk never even looked at us when we walked in. Never welcomed us. We had decided to check in using the app but they should notice and say to customers. There is no valet and the parking garage is super weird and scary to navigate with the occasional homeless pot smokers lurking around. Hot Breakfast was always cold. Coffee was gross. Would not recommend. Room keys were on the app and did not always work the first time.

First the bad: -Front desk staff told me my room wasn’t ready when I got there which I was early so fine but then while I was sitting in the lobby immediately 3 other families checked in no problem. So I was confused at that. -Went to Applebees to kill time and came back (now it was past check in time) said my room still wasn’t ready. Literally the person behind me with the same room type as me checked in right after so again not sure why I was told no rooms were ready when multiple people got to check in right after me -When I finally got to check in they said I couldn’t use my Hilton Credit Card to check in. I was told to go down the street to the ATM to get cash and come back. I kept pressing why I couldn’t use the card I use at every Hilton and it literally has their branding on it. So I had to use a different card for this stay. Fine. But just one other thing on top of everything else. -In all of my previous stays here the rooms were very clean. But this time ours was filthy. There were stains on the pillow case, dust all around the bed, and stains in the bathroom sink. -The AC unit also did not work (was eventually fixed). The good: -Location was very good -Price wasn’t too bad
