I was pleasantly surprised. This was an overnight stay on a business trip and I arrived late afternoon. Plenty of parking round the back. Check in was a breeze and I loved the warm cookie 🍪 offered. My room was spacious and well arranged on the top floor. Bed was quite comfortable too. Breakfast offered was varied and I had hot one of sausage bacon and eggs. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. It's also walking distance to the centre of town. Highly recommend this hotel.
I was very pleased with my stay, having spent only one night in the hotel. My queen room was very clean and spacious, nicely decorated as you can expect from Hilton. The location is great, near enough to the centre and still having green space around; this gave me the feeling of a quiet calming experience. I would happily stay here again.
As someone who is a rewards member and stays in many of the hotels around the UK this was disappointing. The hotel itself is in a good location for visiting the town. The hotel and rooms although clean are very tired and dated. The breakfast was good. However the reception staff were very unwelcoming and took no time to share any hotel information.they simply took my name and handed me my room card. We were the only ones checking in,so it was not like they were rushed. The staff in the hotel are generally very young and need some training, the young lady serving at the bar did not even know how to open a bottle of prosecco. I did it for her. This is not a staff issue , it is a training issue. I am not one to leave bad reviews but as stated I am a regular user of the hotel chain and this was a long way below standard for them.
