DoubleTree by Hilton Williamsburg

Location was great, but it felt like a low-budget motel trying to be a high-priced hotel. The beds were nice, and the rooms were fine but could use some upgrading. There are no microwaves in any of the rooms. The front desk wasn't very helpful. The pool needed cleaning, but the housekeeping staff was super friendly. Wouldn't book it again but also not the worst I've stayed in.

The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The bed was actually decent. The bathroom needs a little work. Over all the "hidden" fees were highly disappointing. It's 12 dollars a day for parking. The breakfast is $16.50 a person. The coffee at the market was actually pretty good and not much more than it cost for Starbucks. Just wish it was a little more up front with how much things are going to cost until youre standing at the check in desk.

Room was infested with ants. The manager was unhelpful and stated there were no other rooms. Offered maintenance who just wanted to spray Raid. We declined the Raid as some of family has asthma and that's not safe to breathe without proper ventilation. Raid also shouldn't be used without leaving room for two hours (manufacturer's instructions). What's worse is that other reviews pointed out the ants. They KNOW this is a problem. Manager did not offer to find an alternate Hilton property or advise us that Corporate could help. I called Hilton Corporate, and they were wonderful and found another room for us at Embassy Suites. We found the DoubleTree to be very loud. You can hear through the walls. There was no liquid soap in the shower (and no one delivered it after we requested some at the front desk).
