Car parking is a real issue. It is extremely small and totally unsuitable for a hotel - approximately 20 spaces. Staff were lovely on check-in. The room was very average but spacious. Surprised there was no mini fridge in the room. Breakfast was really nice though!

We recently Stayed at the hotel for 1 night. The location was great. The rooms were hot and had no air conditioning. We had an air unit in the room but no control. When we ask about the control we were told that they had decided to take air conditioning out 2 months before our arrive. We were traveling with other people. Some rooms had air conditioning and others didn’t. We found it ridiculous that air was taken out of the rooms but people who were booked at that time for a future trip were not told about this. We also found it unacceptable that some rooms had air and others didn’t when we all paid the same amount. The manager we spoke with was very unconcerned and dismissive about the situation.

Great location for York city centre and friendly staff but the standard rooms are dated and are not being well maintained. Cleanliness could certainly be improved too. Furthermore, the rooms are extremely noisy, partly due to the age of the building, but this is not ideal during the night. Breakfast is average for the price and multiple items were not available even after being requested. The amenities, such as the bar and gym are clean and well-equipped but do not outweigh the negatives of the room.
