Drakensberg Sun Resort

This is among the best resorts that I have ever been to in South Africa. The service was excellent from the moment we drove in. From the reception desk, to the porters, to the entertainment team, the cleaners and the security. I was thoroughly impressed. We visited during the April (2025) school holidays so the place was full and they had a full kiddies program, the entertainment team was amazing. The food was top tier. They also offer guided hikes, table tennis, actual tennis, golf, boat rides and canoeing at no additional cost. Our rooms were extremely clean, with no bugs etc and we're cleaned on a daily basis. The air conditioning worked well and the place was cost and inviting. The sleeper coach was extremely comfortable and easy to set up. Overall a 10/10 experience. I subsequently booked for a relative to go for a holiday there in August and he also loved it. I wilm definitely be going back.

Excellent service. Theo and his team are awesome. Fun entertainment with family stuff karaoke, bingo and clever scrabble. Free peaceful boat rides. Lots of monkeys, can't leave your doors or windows opened but they weren't aggressive. Sit on the trees and play. Lovely surrounding places to visit too. Theo was fantastic. Kind and considerate.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Drakensburg Sun for our Honeymoon. The staff were very friendly and polite. Everyone assisted us with a smile. We enjoyed our hike to blue grotto so much so that we did it again. I found it rather strange that you have catch and release for trout but guests can keep bass and then have a sign saying the lake is fully stocked with rainbow trout.
