Dreams Karibana Cartagena Golf & Spa Resort All Inclusive

This trip was probably one of the most difficult trips to arrive to-nothing to do with the hotel. My flight was delayed, my bags were lost BUT once I arrived to the hotel it was heaven. The food was fresh, drinks strong and delicious-all included, and the staff were so kind! I can not say enough good things about my stay here. I can’t wait to come back. The gym was great too-lots of options but closes at 9p. The ability to leave the hotel and go shopping or to the beach is easy, accessible and not that costly. I will warn you the hotel gift shop is crazy expensive-found out when I had to buy clothes (due to the lost bags). They have live music in the evenings, kiddie pool with child care IN the pool-so you can tan and relax. The heat here is something else, but beer and bottled water is endless.

The resort was nice and the staff were very attentive. The language barrier was difficult. The food at the resort was a hit or miss on some days. They didn’t have fish or chicken available everyday at the buffet. An option of vegetables were scarce but there was always a salad that can be used as your vegetable. Cafe was perfect it had goodies I enjoyed. There are rides provided from the resort to the city. I would prefer a two optional times to return the resort. The duration was extensive and we were ready to return but had to wait for the time. Many locals visited the amenities of the resort. The gym was clean. The pool floors were slippery but beautiful. It seems they had a towel shortage and had to wait for laundry to complete to get a pool towel although I didn’t feel the resort was that packed to be short. A better system is needed.

It definitely did not live up to the expectations of a Hyatt Dreams Hotel… there were just too many little things that they just didn’t have… -pool closes at 7pm(which is difficult with children, especially considering there’s nothing else nearby…) -the hotel gym is only for 16yo and up… we have two boys(15 and 11) who play sports so getting them in there for a run was a must, but they could not accommodate… took the 11yo for a run on the hotel road) -the hotel charges about $400 for the tour/transport to the main city of Cartagena(just transportation to/from) -the location is way too far from the actual city of Cartagena, and the hotel knows it. -the hotel beach is dark and sediment(not a white beach or clear water, recommend using goggle earth to verify) The service staff does a great job of delivering the best they can, I really appreciate them. The hotel was interestingly at 25-30% capacity, which based on the pool sizes, I don’t think it can really accommodate much more than that.
