Drops Cave Houses

Amazing place to stay, we had such a GREAT experience here and would recommend it to anybody!! Theoni was the best host, hospitality unmatched and was so so helpful with everything from food service, additional sofa beds, calling taxis - she made our trip so special. There’s a convenient store/cafe downstairs which makes it so easy since this location is a bit more isolated than the more touristy areas. It’s about a 10 min walk to the Main Street and feels more local/residential. Very quiet which is a huge plus. We booked the entire villa for our wedding party, which consisted of 4 villas all next door to each other, each with a pool on the porch. Two of the villas had 2 bedrooms and kitchen, with sofa beds (not pull-outs just singles). One of them had 2 bathrooms and the other had 1. The other 2 villas were single studios. Everything was exactly as pictured and very clean. Even though you’re all right next door to each other, it was very quiet! They have cleaning ladies clean the rooms and mop the floors outside. We booked through Airbnb. 10/10 experience.

Staying at Drops Caves Houses was absolutely fabulous. This was the first time visiting Santorini for myself and my partner. Theoni very kindly organised a taxi transfer from the airport and she was waiting for us to arrive to talk us through the island’s attractions and the villa. We stayed in the Delight villa for a week, it had a large private outdoor area with a pool, sun beds and dining area which the sun shone on early morning till evening. We had a beautiful view of the village and sea in the distance. The bedroom/living area was spacious, beautifully decorated and clean. The bed was comfortable, we had a perfect sleep every night as so silent and felt safe. The bathroom was clean with towels, robes and toiletries were provided. The kitchen area was fully equipped with a large fridge, oven, toastie maker, microwave & crockery/cutlery which we used to prepare our meals most evenings. Breakfast was delivered to us every morning at a time slot we wanted. Each morning we enjoyed homemade juice, ham & cheese toasties, Greek yoghurt, jams, cereal, oats, honey, fresh bread, fruit and cake/biscuits. Delicious 5* breakfast! You can choose how often you require a cleaning service, and you’re given free bottles of water daily (as you can’t drink from the tap). The location of the villa was perfect for us, in a pretty traditional quiet village called Vothonas, with a 10 minute walk to a local supermarket with other shops/restaurants. A special mention and a big thank you to the amazing Theoni, who was so incredibly kind, helpful and made us feel so welcomed. She looked after us throughout our stay, organised taxi transfers to where we wanted to go and always checked in to see if we were ok daily. Lastly, I would recommend to family, friends & anyone reading this to stay at Drops Caves Houses when visiting Santorini. You will certainly not be disappointed and it will make your experience of the island much more magical. We will be back!
