While North Yorkshire is a beautiful county I love very dearly, this was the 1st time I had been to Danby. I liked it very much. A beautiful walk in a beautiful area. A good selection of beers at a good price, but most of all, the service was exceptional. Very friendly and helpful. On the notice board in the pub, there was a poster advertising the Egton Old Gooseberry Show on Tuesday the 5 of August 2025. It also said that the gooseberries were on show from 2.30 till 5pm. How on earth can you spend 3 and a half hours showing off gooseberries? How many types of gooseberries are there for goodness sake? A brilliant Inn with some lovely beers, the Dalesman and the Battleaxe were just brilliant. Thankyou very much to all at The Duke of Wellington Inn.
We stayed for 1 night to attend a wedding close by. I am coeliac and the landlord was very well informed and I had the best breakfast I have had out for ages. Great place to stay and the location is amazing.
Had a really pleasant stay here last night, the hospitality was perfect, food was delicious, what a little gem of a place. Thank you to the staff for looking after me so well.
