Had a 2 night stay at the weekend, they upgraded us to a huge room on the ground floor at no extra cost, my husband is disabled, a ramp was in place to enter the bar and restaurant area, nothing was too much bother, the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food was so tasty, I had the Caledonian chicken, my husband had the cod fish cakes. We both enjoyed them so much we had them again the next night, compliments to the chef. The full Scottish breakfast was huge, and tasted delicious, definitely not skimping on the portions, we had extra pot of tea and a mini Danish to finish. I would like to support this hotel, they are doing their best while being in administration. We will certainly be back. 10 out of 10.

BE WARNED, THIS HOTEL IS IN ADMINISTRATION. NO RESTAURANT - it’s not due to unforeseen circumstances, it’s been going on for months, they let you know 24 hours before you arrive so you have little option to book elsewhere, low and sneaky. Really poor, be wary of some of the other reviews left, IYKYK, the signs are there. Started so well, lovely greeting by receptionist Shannon, she is a credit to the place, absolutely doing her best and being put in an awkward position by the management. Got to the room, loft room 300, very noisy from the faulty roof window that wouldn’t stay closed in the bathroom, also the roof was showing signs of disrepair, likely contributing to what was a very noisy room, we camped previously in a storm and it was quieter. Room was dirty, linen stained, carpets stained, no bath plug, they couldn’t find one. The owner/manager an asian fellow, blatantly obfuscating and in denial about the poor state of the operation, just muddied the water, didn’t seem interested, shirked, so we decided to leave and drive home. Lovely place, run by people that shouldn’t be running a hotel, maybe it’ll get bought by people who don’t just see it as a cash cow someday. Utter disappointment, for the price they’re charging for rooms it’s comedic.
