Very good service, friendly and professional staff, super tasty food. It was a great experience to be here! Please don't believe the negative reviews about this hotel, probably written by people who stayed in Duni Resort but not in Marina Royal Hotel. We met dedicated people who do everything to make you feel good, at the restaurant, pool or bars. Towels and sheets were changed daily, which shows care for tourists. The hotel staff, Bulgarians and Uzbeks, do everything to make you feel good. Many thanks to everyone, but exceptionally to Martina and Gabriela from the reception who helped us professionally when we encountered serious problems during our stay. I also want to thank Radjaboi and Timur for their services at the restaurant terrace. There is a so-called boss, Ivan, who you should avoid, he is so rude. Something else negative? Yes, the hotel parking is always crowded, but nothing is perfect on holiday, right?
Check in was nice and easy. When you walk through the front door everything looks nice and clean. Our room was clean but was very disappointed that we cannot get a queen bed we had to push our beds together. The food was good they need more variety in the main dining resort every day they serve the same for fish items and always cufte or kabache. They may mix in some sliced chicken or pork from the other grill. After a few days the food does get a little boring but at least it's good. The staff works hard and are very nice they are always smiling and treat you very welcoming. However I had an injury on this trip and could not believe that staff had no first aid kits available to them whatsoever. To clean my wound and put a Band-Aid on the medical center wanted €60 from a chair on their beach that I got hurt on. The beach and pool furniture is very bad The umbrellas on the beach remind me of something from the Communist days they barely give you any shade they are 4x4. The beach needs to be clean or dragged in the off-season there are a lot of cigarette butts and other trash and debris in the sand. The events are nice you have stretch classes water aerobics and crazy games at the pool. The shows are okay in the evening but if going to the after party once again there's no staff there. The tables have trash and bird poop all over them and no one to clean them there is a big sparrow problem at this resort. However I would return to this resort but maybe not stay for any more than 5 days. Also if you want to tip out staff please do it directly do not put it in the tip boxes The staff does not see any of those tips.
The hotel makes a great first impression with its elegant lobby and well-maintained garden. The rooms are spacious enough, and the bathrooms are modern and comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent — the room was cleaned every single day, which we truly appreciated. The sea view from the terrace was lovely, and the main restaurant and bars were well-organized, with good food and attentive service. The pools were cleaned daily, and the gardener clearly knows what he’s doing — the flowers and greenery around the property were beautiful. Unfortunately, there are many aspects that fall short of a true 5-star experience. During the active season, the parking lot is completely full, and you cannot reserve a private spot. Most of the reception staff were unwelcoming and uncommunicative, making us feel like we weren’t really wanted there. The hallways are dark and outdated, with very poor lighting and windows that look like they haven’t been cleaned from the outside in years. In fact, large parts of the complex had no working lights at all in the evening, making walks around the hotel grounds unpleasant and even unsafe due to the darkness. In the room, instead of a proper double bed, there were two single beds pushed together — something that’s just not acceptable at a supposed 5-star hotel. The third bed we paid for, meant for our child, was actually a pull-out sofa that was incredibly uncomfortable. Neither my child nor I could sleep on it. The in-room TV was a tiny, off-brand model awkwardly placed on a large desk — again, not in line with a luxury hotel. The pool bar wasn’t working during our stay, which was a big disappointment. The outdoor snack pavilion for sandwiches and ice cream was very poorly managed and honestly felt like an afterthought. While the pools were clean, they, along with much of the hotel infrastructure, are visibly old and in need of renovation. The beach was also quite neglected — the sand was dirty, and it clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Worst of all, the water closest to the hotel had a strong sewage-like smell. And speaking of the beach, the toilet there was absolutely horrifying — one of the worst parts of the entire hotel experience. It was dirty, neglected, and far below any acceptable standard. The hotel has potential with its garden, views, and cleanliness, but everything else — from maintenance and infrastructure to service and basic comfort — needs urgent improvement. It may look like a 5-star resort at first glance, but sadly, it doesn't live up to that promise.
